I wish that was me referring to how I look at 38, as alas that is not a situation I’m too happy with, but a comment as for how the last day or so ended up birthday-wise? Pretty damn sweet.
Larry took me to dinner last night to a great French restaurant we were recommended to go to when we were at the cooking class a few weeks ago. It’s a place called Cafe Beaujolais and it’s in Eagle Rock and it was wonderful. As had been hinted at to us, the male staff there are all pretty damn handsome and French.
Today was a Monday, and Mondays kinda suck regardless. But it ended up being a fairly great way to spend a birthday and a Monday. Larry treated me pretty nice, as he ended up making some awesome Twin Peaks-styled birthday favors, including a banner made with Twin Peaks lettering and a custom-made card right out of the Black Lodge. Pretty sweet. Not only that, he got me Legos, and that is the sign of someone who knows me! A Trevi Fountain set from their Architectural collection, and then a Ghostbusters set. AWESOME. Pics below:

Then tonight, I was able to get a big group of my LA friends to join me and Larry at our local neighborhood bar, Barella (formerly Barbarella). Who knew that a Monday night is the best time to get people together? No one has plans usually, and it just works out. I am working to get the pictures taken from that and will likely post them tomorrow.
All in all, not too shabby of a way to turn 38.
