The Third Leg

Aiello Family, You Have Been Eliminated!

What a bummer - this was one of the families that I liked and they got beat because they got beat to the draw by the other last place teams for a spot on the SpaceCamp Centrifuge. That kind of elimination seems a tad unfair, because there's really no chance for that team in the last position to get ahead of the others, unless there was some driving involved. But the Aiellos are gone, so it's time to move on!

Middleburg, VA to Charleston, SC

You know, I knew immediately that when the Weavers (aka the Crazies) mentioned that they were going to race this game with a laid-back, No-Drama attitude, that that was exactly what was going to happen this episode, and boy, did we get to see that. But anyways, it was nice to finally get some flying in here and remove the driving element. It's always fun to see teams scramble to get the best flight, and the Weavers mental mindgames were awesome to watch. I'm just glad I didn't have to deal with them myself or I would have lost my damn mind.

Charleston is so beautiful. I totally want to go there one day (and not be there only to get on a Greyhound bus to Virginia, a la my Space A travel story) and visit the sights.

Roadblock: Mud Driving or Shrimp Mutilation

Unbelievable that the Gaghans got through the mud pit the first time and the Aiellos took 13 times. And they almost had it that first round. If they could have made it through this challenge a bit faster, perhaps elimination would have belonged to the Paolos alone. <sigh> The shrimp thing looked kinda gross, but hey, you just get it done. I will give the Weavers credit for knowing to change the challenge they're doing when they're having no success. The Aiellos might have thought of that too.

Charleston, SC to Huntsville, AL

The mystery bus ride made the Weavers go crazy. Plain and simple, that family is losing it. And the previews for next week are only going to lead to them losing it even more, which is sad. But good TV! The spacecamp thing was cool, but like I mentioned above, it's kind of unfair to be stuck behind others due to a damn number schedule. Why can't the Paolos lose already?

My thoughts on the Teams, Episode 3:

Bransens: Free gas for life? Amazing.
Linzs: It's good to see this team at the top of the pack. I don't see them being near the end like the first episode again. They're athletic and decently smart.
Schroeders: No opinion really this episode. They're running a good race, so gotta give props to them!
Godlewskis : Next week's overview showing their breakdown is long overdue. You knew that was going to happen!
Weavers: Crazy Crazertons.
Paolos: Still the most annoying team ever. Besides Jonathan and Victoria.
Gaghans: This team has good spirit, but if they don't improve their racing, they're going to be gone soon.
Aiellos: Good attitude didn't save them. That sucks.
