BRINGING DOWN THE HOUSE

Contrary to a lot of the reviews I'd read of this, I thought Bringing Down the House was hilarious! Although I must admit I will laugh at almost anything, so go figure. But ignoring that fact, I thought Queen Latifah was awesome in this. So far she's been in two great movies this year, this and Chicago. Good for her, and I just saw that Bringing down the House made over $30million this weekend. Critics be damned! It is a funny movie and yes it is all ends good, but why shouldn't it? It's not trying to tell a real life urban tale of the city - it's a Steve Martin comedy! So enjoy it, from Latifah's catfight with Tae-bo lady (which is priceless) to the abominably racist Betty White character. Steve Martin and Queen Latifah have great chemistry together, and make for good laughs. But really the star of this movie is Queen Latifah. Her presence, attitude, humor and delivery really make this movie. I think I have a new addition to my favorite movie stars..... So if you're not looking for 'intellectual' comedy (whatever the hell that means), I would recommend this movie. And for Fran - look at the poster - it has our catchphrase!!!!!!!!!!! BRING IT!
