Yep, Jason & Wendy went and got married in the eyes of God! I traveled down to Los Angeles so I could be part of this wonderful day, as I got to be one of the groomsmen. Sweet. I made it down on Thursday to ensure I picked up my tux on time, and then I had to be present for the rehearsal dinner. That was controlled chaos, let me tell you. But I learned how to walk down the aisle with my bridesmaid, and then we had a great (free) dinner at A'Roma, a pretty damn good Italian restaurant. The next day, I had lunch with my mom at her work down in Sherman Oaks, and then that evening I went back down to the hotel area where the reception would be. I passed Disneyland on the way there, and I was blown away by how different that area is with the addition of California Adventure. I remember that huge parking lot and the big Disneyland sign guiding you into the lot. No More! It's gone. Now there is a lot of high tech looking signs advertising which way to go to go to a park and now parking is apparently far from the park and you have to catch a shuttle. My, how things have changed. But back to the story. Ended up hanging with Jason for a little, and then we went to a strip club for a little while, then a Vietnamese restaurant early in the morning, and then finally to sleep. Whew. Finally Saturday was the big day. Amazingly, nothing really went wrong, and things got set up and the wedding went off with out a hitch. We did have to endure a long Catholic mass, but cest la vie. It was cool to actually be part of a wedding - my first (and probably last - I'm just sayin that because I don't really have many other close guy friends that would ask me to be part of a wedding)! Both Wendy & Jason looked great, but of course we (the groomsmen and bridesmaids) looked far better. :-) The reception was a blast as well, and then on Sunday I headed back home to Vegas. All in all, a fun weekend, but really just a precursor to next weekend - the Honeymoon Cruise!!!!! yeehaw! |
