I got to go a 3rd time to the Electronic Entertainment Expo thanks to some awesome rules pertaining to who can go, and yay, working for NBC allows you to go! It’s an amazing event, especially if you like video games, which duh? in my case. I had read a lot of the stories coming out from the sessions with each of the major players yesterday so none of the stuff was much of a surprise – it was more just an incredible experience to go see it all for myself. I had an “Exhibitions Only” pass though, which means none of the shows for me, but I’m fine with that.
Anyway, this year’s E3 had some pretty cool reveals, including:
New Tomb Raider games!
A 4th Uncharted!
A new Assassins Creed, this time set in Revolutionary Paris, and only on next-gen consoles and PC
New Zelda on Wii U
Ubisoft’s The Crew, a massively-multiplayer racing game that allows you to race nearly anywhere in the country – I played it and it was incredible
Dead Island 2, a zombie survival game that I probably won’t play – BUT, the reveal trailer was entertaining as hell with a hot yet douchey guy running through Venice, CA and utter hell ensuing…
Super Smash Bros Wii U, a game I’m not really that interested in, but it was really fun to watch
Far Cry 4 – I’m currently playing Far Cry 3 and it’s fun as hell; this Himalayan setting in 4 looks stunning and yet again the situation looks like a lot of fun to play

A new Mass Effect in the works!!!
Mirror’s Edge 2 – the first one was such a beautiful game to play; kinda hard to actually “play” but a unique experience nonetheless
A remaster of Grim Fandango; I haven’t played this (and admitttedly, didn’t finish it back then) since it came out…adventure games rule
No Man’s Sky – this game looks so bizarre and all-encompassing, I can’t help but fall under its sway. It’s jaw-dropping the things you can do in it based on the video, but I”m still not sure what “the game” is going to be
Grand Theft Auto V is FINALLY confirmed for release on PC as well as PS4 and XBone; I gave my PS3 copy to Trent, so I’m ready to be able to play it yet again
Most of that stuff I listed above? I read about it online; as a holder of the pass I had, a lot of this wasn’t out for you to see. Still is a fun experience though, and I took lots of pictures, as shown below. One of the things that was really cool was a photo-op George took up; the resulting bullet-time video is below the pictures…pretty damn sweet.

After today and the news I’d read about what’s upcoming for the various consoles….I admit that I’m much more open to getting not only a PS4 but also a Wii U. There’s going to be some really fun games coming out for both….and I think I’ve waited long enough, dammit!
