The Abbey is known as being one of the most fun gay bars and clubs not only in West Hollywood but possibly the country. It’s a very laid-back establishment that doesn’t charge a cover and is basically open to whoever wants to come. That policy can lead to a very crowded evening when the dance floor is utterly packed. We’ve had a few different experiences there; once when it wasn’t super packed at night and thus a lot more comfortable, once when it was ridiculously packed and nowhere near as fun, another time when we all pooled money together and got a VIP table with bottle service which was amazing…and finally yesterday during Memorial Day when it was time to visit when the sun was still up. You see, The Abbey also is a restaurant and they are basically open all day. Found out the food is great, the drinks are plentiful and strong, and even better, go-go boys still doing their thing. Also, LOTS of eye candy just wandering around the establishment, and with it being a holiday and perfect weather, everyone was showing off. So a few of us ended up going there for some day-drinking and ogling. It was a great time and I think highly preferable to dealing with an intolerably crowded dance floor. But that’s just me.
