It’s very possible that I will be getting published on the realitynewsonline site this week! As you may or may not remember, I initially applied to be a writer for Big Brother 10, but I didn’t hear back from anyone until BB10 was about 2/3 done, so it was too late for that. But the editor of the site wanted to know if I was interested in writing about The Biggest Loser, which was starting in a week or so. I wrote him that I hadn’t watched the show before but would happily get into the show if he wanted articles on it. I waited a little too long to respond though as he found someone else to do it, which was a little of a bummer but not devastating, as I didn’t know the show that well anyways. So a few more weeks pass and then on Monday, I get an email from him again, this time concerning THE AMAZING RACE!!! As any constant readers of this site know, or if you just know me, you know I love this show. Well, they were looking for someone to recap all the extra videos that CBS provides on their site and he wanted to know if I was interested….uh, YEAH?!!! So he sent me the details on the style they look for when recaps are written and asked for me to send it as soon as possible, as recaps for TAR (as those in the industry refer to it, natch) need to be up by Thursday as readership drops when the weekend approaches. I presume that is because most people reading about reality TV are doing it from WORK or SCHOOL. Slackers!!! 😉
So guess what I’ve been doing the last two nights? Watching a shit-ton of videos that CBS posted online for this first episode. Holy God, there’s 59 videos up. That’s a lot of recapping. But I finished it tonight and submitted it for review. Here’s hoping I survive the firing squad, as apparently 5 editors then review it.
This is so cool.
