I’m currently on book 5 of Game of Thrones but HBO is only up to book 2, A Clash of Kings. It’s hard not to scream out things about what is going to happen to this character or that character a few books down the line, and while I liked this episode, it’s just the tipping point of the shitstorm that’s going to happen in Westeros over the next 2 and a half seasons. It was nice then for HBO to acknowledge that things get super shitty from here on out by providing us gay viewers a bit of a “I’m Sorry” for killing off Renly – did you SEE this scene at the end of “The Ghost of Harrenhal”? GEEZUS. Gendry was always attractive in my head while reading the books, and when I saw the actor in the show, I was lukewarm about his casting, but now I’m sold. Were all blacksmiths this hot back in the medieval times?
Alright, enough of being distracted at work.
I have to link to AfterElton’s recap of this episode too – I didn’t know they recapped Game of Thrones, and they do so hilariously.
