Getting Some Dad & Pat Time In

It’s 3 days till the wedding! Holy crap!

Anyway, Dad & Pat are in from Texas to enjoy the California amazingness before the wedding, and I have this week off so I was very relieved that I could get some time in with them before the main events coming up, as those are going to be overwhelming. I drove down to Long Beach shortly after rush hour and enjoyed very little traffic getting there. They’re staying at Uncle Richard’s sailboat in the marina there so we had some nice time catching up over coffee until it was close to lunch. I drove them over to Shoreline Village where we went to the Yardhouse for lunch. It’s amazingly not all that crowded of a place on a Wednesday afternoon, compared to the insanity of a Saturday, like when we went to this area after scoping out the Queen Mary as a potential wedding venue. It was good food and good times, and a beautiful day for it. Here’s hoping that remains the case as we head into Saturday. Forecasts are for it to be relatively cool with a high of 70 and a low of 55…..and precipitation isn’t showing up….knock on wood!
