I'm Glad Stephenie's the last one!
But
seriously, it's unreal that Ulong didn't win ONE immunity
challenge the entire time. NOT ONE.
So this may be one of the grossest episodes I've seen in
Survivor for a while. How disgusting was it to see those baby
ducks as the food challenge? I mean, yes, I realize that scrambled
eggs is exactly that, but still I'm not eating it when it's
formed like that. Blech. And then to see Bobby Jon's open
mouth after he had lost - I'm glad I wasn't eating anything
at the time. That was just nasty. And then to see Bobby Jon
blowing the snot rockets..... nasty. After Stephenie proceeded
to describe how funky Bobby Jon must have been, I'm very glad
that the TV industy hasn't incorporated smell-o-vision just
yet.
The Last Team Immunity Challenge
Or is it? It'll be interesting to see if Stephenie will have
to go head-to-head against one of the guys of Koror in another
immunity or reward challenge. But based on the limited previews
that they showed after the episode was over, I think the merge
is coming. At least I hope it is. Because I really want the
Stephenie-Tom-Ian-Katie alliance to work out, as anything
that gets Stephenie to the end is alright with me.
I was just thinking too..... if there is a merge, and Stephenie
somehow makes it to the Final 2....or hell, if she just makes
it to the jury, she will be the only person in Survivor history
to have been to EVERY SINGLE TRIBAL COUNCIL. That's one for
the trivia books.
Final Thoughts
I was never a big huge fan of Bobby Jon, so I'm not all that
torn up about him leaving. I was shocked to see how the final
Tribal council was conducted though - I thought for sure that
they would pull the Purple Rock of Death, but that's not very
exciting, is it? So it's kind of cool that it was another
challenge, but when it became a fire challenge, I thought
for sure my girl was gone. Yay for Stephenie that I was wrong!

Other's Thoughts:
C-Money
speaks - It's Thursday!:
Well, we started dinner late,
so let me catch up a bit...
First thing, the dreaded food challenge. How gross is it to
eat a bird embryo??? I was just a bit disgusted. And all the
rats at the Koror camp, I have to agree with Coby on the fact
that they are just nasty! Look at all the crap, garbage around
the camp. But, I was not surprised to see Koror win the challenge.
What was Bobby Jon's strategy with shoving all 5 birds in
his mouth?!?!? How did you think you were going to win? Men...
Then to finally see Stephanie sad. I can tell she is just
so upset with what is happening. I would have lost it and
cried a long time ago. But, before that, the argument at Koror
about the water. I'm sorry Tom, but that water should be used
for drinking and NOT taking showers. Come on, how can you
think that a bath in fresh water is going to help you with
challenges. Find a freaking stream with fresh water or something.
Drink the effin' water!
I hate when Ulong starts talking about "gettin their
spirits up". That has been what they have said every
time and it never happens. It's good to see them finally eating
something, tho, so snaps to Bobby Jon for finally getting
some food!!
Man, a water immunity challenge. That is so hard!! They are
going to be exhausted!! But as I'm watching this, it is not
a rare sight to see Ulong losing again. And they did. We knew
that was coming, the "gettin spirits up" was foreshadowing.
I thought they might draw straws or something at tribal council,
but individual immunity challenge seems like a better way
to go. Steph will probably kick butt, and for us to know that
Tom, Ian and Katie already have her in their sights as a member
of their "group". Hmmm, where did that come from?
Do I HAVE to watch Coby cry??? Oh my GAWD he IS a sissy boy.
If you cry like that, then I can see why you got picked on,
but he is a "feminist" (his quote, not mine).
Wow, a fire making challenge. At least they have matches and
not flint. Personally, I would run over to the fire in the
middle of tribal council. Hee, hee. Yay!! Steph won an immunity!!!
Do you think Bobby Jon gave up on the fire? I think he did.
I don't think he gave it his all. But, I'm only one person...
So, now what? Steph goes back and she's a tribe of one? Or
do you think they will finally merge? The way this Survivor
has gone, she'll probably be her own tribe. From the previews,
it looks like my guess is right. A tribe of one.
Well, we'll be seeing you next week, same survivor time, same
survivor channel.
Squirrel's
Comments - Ep 8:
I missed the first few minutes of tonight's
episode getting Aidan set up with a movie. The first thing
I see is what the reward is. Yes, it's all about the "hook
up" now isn't it?
Yep, the writers are back guiding the game
to an outcome they want instead of letting it happen. The
sadism continues too. That's the most disgusting "food"
and if I were Ulong, I'd just give up. Let the beautiful people
have their perfumes.
Could Ulong be sadder? I'm still hoping for
Steph to make it all the way but I'm not confident that she'll
make it.
Immunity comes and again it would seem to
be as difficult as possible. And the result... Ulong loses
once again!
Now they have to compete against each other.
The writers like Steph so she'll win and amazingly enough,
she does. So goodbye Bobby Jon.
Poor Steph now has to go back alone. That
just sucks! The torture continues.
Overall,
I'll give it just another week.
Counterpoint
-> Linus:
Wow! I know you want to be the sole survivor
but not the sole survivor on a tribe! Obviously when they
were planning out this season they did not expect one tribe
to lose every immunity challenge; and who would have guessed
that it would have been the younger stronger (minus Tom) tribe
that would be the one losing them all. If it wasn't for Tom
being on Koror we would have had a totally different outcome.
I just wonder if that will hurt him although it looks like
he has a pretty good alliance IF Katie sticks with it. I'm
not worried about Stephenie backing out (if they merge finally)
because if she wants to move further she is going to have
to stick with an alliance and she has one so why would she
back out? Amazingly, there was no merge before we got down
to the jury. At least Ulong will have one person on the Jury
unless Stephenie can make it to the final two which IS possible.
OK for the conspiracy theory people, if you really believe
CBS decided not to merge or shake up the tribes during the
game and not before hand here's a thought: Let's say Mark
Burnett and crew did change it up mid-game because Ulong was
losing and someone on the staff leaks that information (which
happens surprisingly alot just check the spoilers). Now say
Bobby John finds out they were supposed to merge say 2 tribal
councils ago. Wouldn't he sue CBS by saying that the change
caused him a shot to advance further in the game and therefore
he collected less money because of it? Just a thought. I really
do believe that CBS had no idea one tribe would do so bad
and why would they? No tribe EVER has lost every immunity
challenge.
Despite my early opinion on Ulong, I have been wanting them
to win since last week, because they finally got their act
together and started playing as a tribe. Besides I liked both
Stephenie and Bobby John. I really wanted them to win immunity
just once! I am glad that Stephenie won the individual challenge
but I feel bad for her as well. Who wants to go back alone
and how is she ever going to get their (now her) boat into
the water? I did like the individual challenge where they
had to light a torch to stay. I wonder if Mark had to come
up with that challenge at the last minuet.
The reward challenge this was something that I was actually
familiar with. Balut is actually a Filipino (Pilipino for
us Americans) food, nice try CBS, and can be found everywhere
in the Philippines. I mean everywhere. I have seen it at the
bus stops in the markets and even in road side stands. Now
I usually pride myself in trying different foods but I just
couldn't make myself try Balut. Just as a side note, some
Filipinos simply just suck out the juice from the egg and
don't eat the chick. I know that's not much better.
Finally, what in the hell do the women on Koror do? Coby called
it dead on. They don't even take part in the challenges anymore.
They really are just on a vacation right now. Poor Jennifer
wasn't allowed to shower oh waaaaaahhh. Well, that will all
end soon enough and finally Koror will have to play the game
and not just Tom and Ian and occasionally Coby and Greg. It
should be interesting when Koror is forced to turn on itself.
My favorite to win right now is Stephenie and it's certainly
a possibility. I feel that the tribes will finally merge and
I think they should make Koror move to Ulong but I doubt they
will. Anyway, if they do merge Stephenie has an alliance waiting
for her and it is strong although they are short one person
at this point but they should be able to sway at least one
more member. All they have to do is convince the rest of the
tribe that they need to break up the Romber wannabees. After
that Stephenie makes the final for then they get rid of Katie
(good riddance) and then she just needs to win the last immunity
which would be tough against Tom but she can do it.
